“Sirius” – Bay Lusitano stallion
Wow! Portugal! One horse more beautiful than the next… No matter where you look amazingly beautiful spirited horses – the Lusitano horse! This particular shot was taken at Centro Equestre da Leziria Grande, Luis Valenca’s Riding School. If you have not heard of this fantastic horseman you will need to look him up! He has incredibly beautiful horses and an amazing love for them, he teaches students from all around the world and his level of horsemanship and connection is fantastic! He shared his perspective of the history of the Lusitano horse, it’s survival and how it got it’s athleticism, strength and endurance all with the lightheartedness and humor that seemed to me a beautiful trait of this kind man. You can see the little twinkle in his eyes when he speaks of the journey he has had and still has now with his horses and the life he has dedicated to them. I totally loved our day spent in his and his family’s presence, having the honor to be let into the life of Luis Valenca.
I so want to go back there….
