As I am looking through my folders of pictures of Morocco I come across the market of Morocco and I remember the smells, the colors, the faces of people and the river of people and traffic that harmoniously winds through narrow paths within the Medina and through the roads of the cities. There seems to be a language that people speak that is beyond words. It is the understanding that life, in fact, can flow as a river rather than end up in aggression about a traffic jam. Life here is different.
As a woman I do wonder how it is to live in a country where women very clearly have a different role to play than men and than women of the Western world. I am not judging, I am trying to understand. Obviously the Islamic religion has a huge influence of how life is lived here. I love the Mosques and the calls for prayer at certain times during the day.
I love that horses and donkeys are still part of the every day transportation and way of life. How do the animals feel about this? People always do the best they can is my belief and so I find it wonderful that there are organizations like SOREC (which stands for Société Royale d’Encouragement du Cheval) that are trying to bring consciousness and awareness to the horse per se but also about many aspects around the horse. In general, I do feel that people are taking good care of their animals and especially when they depend on them for making a living….
Until the next post :), MUCH LOVE.
