Description
This bowl was made with white clay and fired twice, once bisqued and then taken out at 1500 degrees Fahrenheit the second time around, and put in a metal can with straw and left there to smolder for a bit which makes the beautiful brown earth color. The cracks were achieved through a process of applying Sodium silicate to the cylinder, dried for a while like this and then shaped into a bowl. The outside cracks by stretching the material into its form.
This bowl measures 8″ wide x 3 3/4″ tall.
