White Translucency

Description

This is a set of small bowls that could either be used for drinking tea or to eat a small rice death or curry out of.

The cups measure about 4 1/2 inches wide and 2 1/4 inches tall. Each weighs 14 ounces and is made from dark brown clay – there is a teapot which is also listed separately made in the same color and glaze combination.

I used a white transparent glossy glaze that lets the clay shine through. I really love the simplicity and earthiness of this cup and the set. Playful with character but also simple.

You can see the throwing rings through the glaze. this set I imagine on a wooden rustic table or a patio furniture or around the fire place… Endless possibilities here!
