Horses of Morocco

What do I think of when I think of the horses of Morocco are the Arabian horses, a breed quite different than any other. To me they have a different relationship to humans than any other breed I have come in contact with. They have become legends of the desert and are known for their speed, endurance, intelligence and their spirit… Their is a mysterious flair around them, a beautiful elegance and endearing quality of a very fine and noble heritage. What can I say? I love them.

But then less known but equally as powerful and spirited is the Barb horse who actually is the origin and ancestor of the American Quarter Horse, just less well known. They are very very beautiful horses and still are untouched from the certain breeding standards that we here in America have that might look pretty in some eyes but might not be all that functional.

They were the horses that carried the worriors into battle and reflect the proud Moroccon people….

About Claudia Mardel

I love beauty in it's wondrous forms and aspects. Capturing moments that speak to the heart and soul, capturing a face, a movement, light, the magic of a relationship, and esp. the horses with their own magic, grace and beauty. I have done many different things in my life from being an elementary school teacher, a massage therapist, a barefoot trimmer, a world traveler, a diver, sailor, lover of horses and all animals to a photographer and potter. I am a Free Spirit with a big heart and don't quite fit in a box. My intention is for you to catch that free spirit through the images I present to you and the earth creations in form of pottery I have filled with love, intentions and prayers.
